How far in advance should I plan my trip?

Usually I recommend planning at least 3 months in advance, and up to 12 months in advance. The amount of time you spend planning depends a lot on the type of experience you want to have and is influenced by many other factors like time of year, destination, budget, group size, duration of the trip, etc.

Can you still reach out if your departure date is sooner than 3 months out? Absolutely!

What is it like planning a trip with you?

IT'S FUN! Although it can feel daunting, planning a trip does not have to be a stressful experience. Especially when you work with a travel advisor! I will make this process as fun and easy as possible for you - offering options, guidance, and expertise every step of the way.

What does it cost to work with you?

I charge an advising fee, which is separate from the cost of your trip and must be paid prior to beginning any trip planning. The fee starts at $500 for domestic trips and $750 for international and varies based on group size as well as complexity and duration of the trip.

Why do you charge a fee?

My advising fee pays me for my time and expertise. When you work with me, you receive a custom-built itinerary just for you that is not dictated by commissions or pre-packaged experiences. Instead of getting a one-size-fits all trip, I spend days crafting an experience that is perfect for you and considers the planet and destination communities, as well.

Of course! It's super fun to start from a clean slate. I love learning about your hopes and priorities and helping you decide what destination and what type of trip might be a great fit for you.

What if I don't know much about sustainability?

No problem! The whole point of working together is to help you plan something unique that you wouldn't have done on your own - and learning some sustainable travel tips and tricks is part of that!

Do I have to sacrifice comfort or luxury for sustainability?

Accepted Answer

Nope! Sustainable travel choices are often about choosing the right time of year to travel to the right destinations and choosing locally owned accommodations, tour operators, restaurants, etc. instead of defaulting to short-term rentals or getting lured in by greenwashed hotel chains and carbon off-sets. Fortunately, there are plenty of high end and luxury options that make sustainability a priority, it just takes some extra research and planning - that's why I'm here!

What will my itinerary look like when I get it?

You have a couple options for your itinerary format. I can provide you with a PDF with all the details of your trip or you can access your interactive itinerary, including the option to save an offline version, via our free mobile app.

Can I make changes to my itinerary?

Accepted Answer

Certainly! As part of the planning process, we will go through a couple rounds of edits until we settle on a final plan. In some cases, if you wish to make further changes after the final itinerary is complete, there may be an additional change fee incurred, especially if it requires rebooking accommodations or travel.
